State Reciprocity
State reciprocity refers to the tax agreement between two states which allows residents of one state working in another to request a tax exemption from their non resident state; with this exemption no taxes will be taken for the state you work in; instead you will need to request to have taxes held for your resident state to avoid penalties.
- Employee’s Statement of Residency in a Reciprocity State– Complete to request a OH tax exemption if you work in OH but reside in any of the states below, remember to provide your resident state income tax withholding certificate to Human Resources and avoid penalties.
