iTech Solutions understands that health choices for consultants are not typical. Our New hires are brought in for their expertise to work on key projects; For many, this means moving onto a new employment upon completion. Medical Essential Coverage (MEC) plans are a great alternative, to ensure you have complete wellness coverage.
Compass (Carrier) offers two levels of coverage, below you may review the description and exclusions of the benefits.
Your NEW HIRE ENROLLMENT period will start on the 1st of the month after your hire date and end on the 15th, with coverage starting 1st of the month following 30 days of employment
New Hire Example of Eligibility
- Hire date – 12/15/2018
- New Hire Enrollment Period – Starts on 01/01/2019 Ends on 01/15/2019
- Coverage will start – 02/01/2019
in 2019 we have partnered with PPI to process all employee enrollments. Once your New Hire Enrollment Period starts, you will need to access the PPI Employee portal to elect your benefits.
To access the PPI Portal please navigate to www.ppienroll.com, please view the PPI Employee Registration Instructions for assistance with this process. Should you run into any issues you may reach the PPI Support Team, Monday to Friday at 888-674-0046 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST, or via email at clientservices@ppibenefits.com. Please be advised you will not be able to register until your New Hire Enrollment Period starts.
Along with your MEC plan you can participate in voluntary plans which will supplement your health insurance and offer additional protection. These individual policies are offered by Aflac and include hospitalization, critical illness and accident protection. If you are interested in purchasing one of the Aflac benefits please reach out to them directly at 860-989-3050. Please remember iTech only facilitates payments we do not administer the benefits.

MEC Plans Service Exclusions:
The MEC plans are a hybrid of two different policies. The core plan, provided by Compass, does NOT cover inpatient or ER services. However, this is subsidized by the second provider, Beazley, who provides hospital benefits. The chart above is a basic outline of the two plans.
